The V&A Waterfront was purchased from London and Regional Properties in 2010 by Growthpoint Properties & PIC for ZAR 10bn.

Nic joined the SPV and commissioned Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF) to develop a strategic masterplan in conjunction with a local team of planners and architects for the 160ha super prime South African estate. A 12 million ft2 plan was established with clear development implementation and acquisition strategy.

• Strategic Masterplanning of 117ha estate (circa 200,000m2 bulk development rights) using Kohn Pederson Fox (London) and City Think Space.

• Gateway Precinct Plan – 8ha mixed use precinct (100,000m2 additional bulk application).

• Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre – Cut and carve + new build retail 22,500m2

• Portswood Ridge – Conversion of office to residential, 8,400m2 – 109 apartments

• One Breakwater Boulevard – New build residential, 11,600m2 – 150 apartments

• Two Oceans Aquarium – New shark tank and creation of conference facilities – 2,600m2

• Workshop 17 – Creation of innovation hub for Africa & public market – 7,700m2

• One Dock Road – New build office scheme – 18,000m2
